On September 28th, the Port Washington Public Library was filled with joy, laughter, and creativity as local residents gathered to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Organized by the Greater Port Washington Chinese American Association (GPWCAA), the event invited families and community members of all ages to experience traditional Chinese culture through hands-on art activities and festive fun.
Participants enjoyed making their own mooncakes — a symbolic treat that represents reunion and good fortune. The craft tables also featured a variety of lantern-making activities, including elegant lotus lanterns, vibrant BaoXianghua (treasure flower) lanterns, and playful goldfish lanterns, each carrying wishes of happiness and prosperity. Another highlight was the lacquer fan workshop, where guests painted delicate patterns on fans inspired by ancient craftsmanship.
The library transformed into a warm cultural hub, complete with a special Mid-Autumn-themed photo backdrop where visitors captured memorable moments in traditional attire. The event brought neighbors together to celebrate family, friendship, and the beauty of cultural exchange — a true reflection of the spirit of the full moon that lights up the festival.

图书馆在当天化身为温馨的文化空间，特设的中秋主题背景板成为打卡拍照的热门地点，许多居民身着传统服饰留下美好瞬间。此次活动不仅让社区居民欢聚一堂，共度佳节，也通过文化交流增进了邻里情谊，展现出如满月般团圆、美好的节日精神
