Despite the light rain on Saturday, the outdoor picnic at Manorhaven Beach Park was filled with warmth and joy as neighbors gathered to celebrate both spring and the Dragon Boat Festival.

Everyone huddled together to learn how to wrap zongzi, the fragrant aroma of glutinous rice and bamboo leaves blending with the fresh ocean breeze. Each family brought a homemade dish to share, creating a diverse potluck spread ranging from traditional Chinese treats to Western desserts.

Children laughed and played in the drizzle, while some set up a lively lemonade stand, their cheerful calls ringing through the air. Nearby, a small marketplace displayed fun trinkets that delighted the little ones. Several neighbors from different cultural backgrounds joined in the zongzi-making, and some friends even drove from afar just to be part of the festivities.
孩子们也没闲着：有人支起柠檬水摊位，清脆的吆喝声引来不少消费者；小集市上摆满童趣手工和玩具成了热门商品。几位其他族裔邻居也兴致勃勃地加入包粽子行列，而住在数十英里外的朋友更是冒雨驱车赶来，只为这场难得的团聚。

Though the weather was less than ideal, the shared laughter and camaraderie made this spring picnic a truly heartwarming occasion.
